Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. The Role As a Shotcrete Operator, you will be reporting to the Services Supervisor, responsible for executing shotcrete spraying operations efficiently, in accordance with design and structural regulations, while maintaining quality assurance compliance. Responsibilities Apply shotcrete at the specified thickness, quantity, and application in accordance with procedures and design for ground support, rehabilitation, and paste/vent walls. Coordinate shotcrete requirements with the Underground Supervisor and Backfill Engineers. Ensure all mine services, including ventilation, meet the minimum standards required before spraying/applying shotcrete. Ensure that spray machinery and equipment are maintained clean and in working order. Perform alternate duties to support operational requirements. You, the person Proven experience as a Shotcrete Operator in an underground mining environment, with a thorough understanding of concrete additives and aggregates. A dynamic and self-motivated individual, determined to excel and dedicated to safety. Possess solid time management skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively. Experienced in the basic maintenance of shotcrete sprayers, pump lines, and consumable equipment. Valid Australian Drivers Licence Working Conditions This role is offered on a 2:2 (7 days, 7 nights, 14 off) work roster and based at our Tanami operation with multiple points of hire available.
