This position can be based in either our Bowen Hills or Townsville office, and will involve working on a DIDO/FIFO roster in the future. Find a career that matters and lasts As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will provide high quality, innovative and field focused safety support across line and substation construction activities in order to foster and develop a high performing organisational HSE culture. A key part of your role will be providing a range of support functions to large scale construction projects and maintenance and activities. Specifically you will: Provide practical advice and solutions on all aspects of Safety management, including legislative compliance and the management of risk. Deliver direct support to the facilitation and monitoring of risk management and associated application of systems and controls within the business. Facilitate and participate in a range of audit & assurance activities in conjunction with the business and provide practical and pragmatic support to assist in managing risk and delivering successful work. Provide practical input into the ongoing development and maintenance of the Powerlink HSE Management System. Support Powerlink's Leadership & Learning Principles to build trust, forward-accountability and the free-flow of information in order to maximise learning opportunities across the organisation. The community you will join Based in either Brisbane or Townsville, you will be joining our Health and Safety team, working on the CopperString Project and will be part of the broader Health, Safety and Environment Function. This team thrives on a culture of high performance, where each member’s dedication to excellence is complemented by a strong emphasis on collaboration, ultimately fostering a dynamic and achievement oriented environment. Your expertise Degree level qualification in a field of safety studies or lesser qualification coupled experience in the relevant field. Formal investigation qualification or experience in contemporary event learning approaches Formal internal audit qualifications (e.g. ISO45001/IS014001/ISO9001) and experience in delivering formal HSE audits We’d also love you to have: Proven ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and to work collaboratively with relevant parties towards maintaining mutually beneficial relations. Demonstrated experience in applying safety knowledge and processes in a broad range of complex working environments. Previous experience in providing safety support to operational or project teams within medium to large technical organisations. Certificate IV or above in environmental management. (desirable) Electrical Trade qualifications (e.g. Linesman, Electrical Fitter/Mechanic).
