APAC Field Operations Director

Aethon Aerial provide Pole Inspection, Vegetation Monitoring and Corridor Mapping to local Energy Companies for fire mitigation purposes. We are seeking a Field Operations Director for the continue growth in the APAC Region. They will be responsible for the planning, and execution of multiple acquisition projects while managing all field personnel and ensuring they have the skills, resources and support to effectively carry out their day to day operations. This role within our organisation requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously. Primary Responsibilities All Asia Pacific region field operations Consulting with internal and external stakeholders to understand project scope Development and implementation of effective project plans to ensure adequate scope management Planning and coordination of all logistical activities including international shipping of equipment, crew scheduling and sub-contractor management Reporting on project status and resource availability via verbal presentation and or written reports Implementing and maintaining operational safety plans for all field operation related activities Operational risk assessment and control implementation to meet or exceed CASA regulation, Aethon Corporate policy and client aviation requirements including BARS (Basic Aviation Risk Standards) and C7 aviation safety standards Review and approval of sub-contractor and supplier invoices Securing aviation authority approvals for airborne data acquisition systems for use with contracted aircraft operators Providing field support for systems installations and troubleshooting as required Development and implementation of maintenance programs schedules for company resources to ensure ongoing reliability whilst minimizing resource downtime Additional duties as mutually agreed by the Manager and Company Communication and Reporting Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations to various audiences including project team, sponsors and customers Prepare and submit regular project status reports Respond to senior management inquiries and issues in a timely manner Coordinate proactively with cross-functional teams to maximize productivity and profitability Plan and schedule team meetings to discuss project progress and issue Creating survey reports for inclusion in project deliverables Team Building and Coordination Ensure safety practices are followed to create a healthy and positive working environment Manage field staff effectively to execute assigned projects Identify resource requirements for various projects and provide suggestions for continued improvement Collaborate with VP & Director to recruit and train field employees Additional Responsibilities The flexibility to travel in the field if required Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of practice Desired Skills: A sense of urgency and self-motivation are essential Demonstrated Field Operations management skills Proven success in providing on-site leadership for teams ensuring responsibilities and project milestones are met Strong technical and analytic skills Excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team and maintain professional relationships Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing and competing demands Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment Proven ability to generate results and accountability to business needs Knowledge of remote sensing data capture systems including Lidar, IR/UV, high-resolution camera systems and gyro stabilized systems Knowledge of the Aviation operating environment with helicopter and fixed wing Strong computer and quantitative skills Flexibility / Adaptability Experience and Qualifications 7 to 10 years of field acquisition and project management experience in an aviation and remote sensing environment and related experience Bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, Remote Sensing or related field Postgraduate Project Management Training and experience Experience with complex decision making, identifying priorities and resolving problems Strong experience leading, motivating and managing projects and various teams Proficiency with ESRI and/or other GIS mapping software an asset Aethon is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds.Powered by JazzHR
