This heritage and stylish property is one of the city’s leading world-class hotels. The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. To bring this experience to life, we are looking for an innovative and passionate Groups & Events Executive. This role is vital for the procurement of conference business, and assisting in the planning and delivery of service during conferences & events. Your day-to-day * Actively pursue leads and drive conversion to ensure all business opportunities are followed up and all defection and lost business is revisited regularly * Assists in the coordination and liaison with the Food and Beverage Manager and the Executive Chef, the pricing and preparation of banquet menus, and beverages and wine lists * Provide quotations for conference and events proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs ensuring revenue is maximized * Preparation of Event Planning documents as required – including Request for Information, Event Orders, Invoices & Floorplans * Ensure progress deposits and final accounts are invoiced and payments received in a timely manner, complete billing and post charges for each event * Coordination and Hosting of site inspections, pre-conference meetings and post conference reviews with clients * Proactively seek feedback from in house and past event clients to ensure client satisfaction and to generate repeat business What we need from you * Diploma in hotel management, sales/marketing or related field * Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company. * A proactive approach to developing & maintaining strong relationships * Adaptable and a quick thinker with problem solving skills who proactively looks to assist where possible * Organised and with high attention to detail and the ability to coordinate multiple events simultaneously * Knowledge of or previous experience in Hotel Event Planning is an advantage What you can expect from us We give our people everything they need to succeed.
