Primary Responsibility: As the Northern Region Safety and Return to Work Manager, you will coordinate and provide support, advice, and guidance to all QLD & NSW site-based operations in the area of Safety, Workers Compensation, and Return to Work. What You'll Do: * Responsible for facilitating the implementation of Safety and return to work systems across the region. * Co-ordination of effective claims management through liaison with Workers' Compensation Insurers * Undertake serious incident investigations and assist sites with risk assessments and risk management strategies as required. * Provide Health and Safety management support to the business through coaching and supporting of line management to enable them to lead safety effectively. * Ensure State Safety Improvement opportunities are identified and communicated within all business areas. * Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement. * Provide detailed risk and trend analysis advice and provide recommendations to Site Management. * Identify and assist in developing Safety Awareness programs where appropriate.. * Assist injured workers through their rehabilitation to return to pre-injury role. * Provide RTW / Rehabilitation specific support to the General Manager Risk & Risk Management * Initiate effective communication of RTW / Rehabilitation related projects to management * Leads by example a culture of safety through actions, communications, promotions, Behavioral Based Safety Training and weekly BBS reporting. * Establishes the priorities and manages the implementation of Health and Safety management programs (Safety Management Systems Audit, AOS, Monthly Safety Training, BBS, Vector, etc.) * Manages all Health and Safety regulatory reporting requirements for the State. What Experience and Education You Need: * Relevant tertiary qualifications in Safety or equivalent including demonstrated post secondary school qualifications * Minimum 5 years' experience in Return-to-Work Management and/or Safety Management. * Minimum 2-3 years experience within the Warehouse, Supply Chain sector * Strong influencing skills and ability to make and execute effective decisions. What Could Set You Apart: * Aptitude as a communicator, coach, and mentor * Proven analytical and problem-solving skills * High attention to detail * Proven ability to plan, organise, execute, evaluate and control * Experience in the management of RTW / Rehabilitation processes * Experience in the management of Safety and Compliance. * Experience in the day-to-day management of injured workers. * Must be outcome focussed * Highly developed communication skills * Team working ability as well as an ability to work independently and autonomously * PC Skills, specifically: Windows, Outlook, Webex, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Warehouse Management Systems.
