Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Operations Engineer in Australia to assist us with ensuring the smooth functioning of our technical systems to support our client's cashback rewards services. This role involves not only technical prowess in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance but also requires skills in account management and client interactions. Responsibilities: Engage in account management tasks and interact with clients to understand and address their technical concerns effectively. Monitor and maintain operational health of all server systems, including application, database, and file systems. Work on trouble tickets submitted by users or automated system alerts, diagnosing and resolving complex issues in a timely manner. Perform regular system maintenance and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime. Develop and maintain scripts in Bash to automate routine operations tasks. Manage MySQL databases, including backup, restoration, and query optimization. Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline operations processes. Provide after-hours support as needed for critical issues. Qualifications: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to handle client communications and manage accounts. 3+ years of experience in an operations or systems administration role. Strong proficiency in MySQL and other SQL databases. Experience with Linux, including advanced Bash scripting skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across a variety of platforms and software applications. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience in the cashback or financial rewards domain is highly desirable. Knowledge of cloud services AWS, Java and Python. Capability to engage with business stakeholders and articulate technical details in business terms.
