About the role In support of continuous improvement within our global practices across Alcoa’s Mining, Refining and Smelting portfolio, an exciting new opportunity exists to join our Biodiversity Centre of Excellence team on a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2024 and contribute towards making a positive difference within the regions where Alcoa operates. In this newly created role reporting to our Principal Biodiversity & Ecosystem Restoration, you will be supporting with approved work programs that will focus on invasive species management involving review of international best practices, review of portfolio-level exposure pathways and risks (including supply chains) and recommendations for future improvements. What’s on offer * Career development opportunities to pursue your passion * Performance related bonus (variable) * Paid annual volunteering hours * Social and diversity focused engagement opportunities What you can bring to the role * Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related discipline. * Experience and interest in invasive species and threatening processes to biodiversity will be an advantage. * Strong communication skills both written and verbal with demonstrated experienced developing positive and effective working relationships. * Your capability to utilise spatial data on ArcGIS along with being skilled in Microsoft and Excel. * Demonstrated capability in analysing information and research would be advantageous. * Your initiative and proactive work approach can see you working independently with limited supervision. An opportunity exists for either full-time hours working Monday to Friday (with a leisure day off every-four-week period) or to join us on a part-time basis.
