Commencing in early January 2025 the Light Vehicle Mechanic apprenticeship opportunity will be located at our Pinjarra Refinery. As part of this four-year Apprenticeship Program you will be: * Based in the vehicle workshop of one of Alcoa’s Refineries. * Trained in diagnostics, repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems. * Working on a variety of light vehicles including, four-wheel drive utility and passenger vehicles, cranes, forklifts, skid steers. * Given additional training in fields associated with your trade, including vehicle auto-electrics, air conditioning and hydraulics. What you can bring to the role: To play a part in our ongoing success, we are seeking someone who has: * A high dedication and focus towards safety. * A good academic record with a proven interest in mechanics and automotive. * Involvement in any related extracurricular activities or have gained relevant knowledge in that field. * A current, valid Australian ‘Learners’ Drivers Licence or working towards. * Completed a minimum of year 10, with a high pass in Mathematics and English. * Solid school attendance record. * Completed a pre-apprenticeship, and relevant trade-based work experience is highly desirable.
