About the Role We are seeking a visionary Technical Services Manager to join our Operational Programs team and provide strategic support for Alcoa’s mining operations. Reporting to the Integrated Plan & Delivery Manager, you will play a vital role in providing technical mining expertise to mitigate risks associated with business activities across the region. Operating centrally from our HQ in Booragoon, you'll ensure smooth operations at site level by empowering decision-making and facilitating seamless data recovery. Your key responsibilities will be: * Modelling Mine Planning: Developing and analysing mine planning scenarios that integrate with both the 10-year and 36-month mine plan intervals specific to strategic projects. * Strategic Support: Providing insights into mine planning constraints, such as grade considerations, refinery impacts, and alternative approaches, to ensure optimal business outcomes. * GIS Data Interpretation: Optimising solutions in line with project objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals. * Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Influencing senior stakeholders across the region and functional areas, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with project objectives. What you can bring to the role * Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field; advanced degree considered desirable. * Strong background in similar mine planning and technical services roles within the mining industry. * Highly experienced in operation of materials handling, mobile mining equipment and contractor management. * Broad understanding of business value stream mapping and implementation of strategic organisational improvements. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience in government approvals process. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills capable at making effective decisions. * Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the capacity to engage and influence senior stakeholders effectively. * Proven ability to lead, develop and build a cohesive and high performing team.
