What our clients are saying “We have watched them become a technology leader in the last decade” “They feel like part of the family”“API over the years has always been there to support us” About This Role The Airline Support Specialist processes hotel and ground transportation reservations, transacting with hotel and ground transportation partners, whilst providing professional, courteous and friendly customer service to API’s airline customers. This position plays an important role in reflecting airline operational changes involving clients, hotels and transportation. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday (including public holidays that fall on your rostered work days), alternating between Day shifts (6:00-4:00pm) and Afternoon shifts (12pm-10pm).These hours are not fixed and can vary from time to time. Flexibility and availability required as flight operations and job duties demand. About You Your qualifications are certainly essential to your success in this role, and it is expected that you will impress us with your skills in the following ways; 1-2 years’ experience of hotel/travel industry Experience in the airline industry is a definite plus: airline crew/scheduling and/or crew planning Prior experience with GDS systems, hotel reservation systems, airline reservation systems and/or related functions preferred but not required Possess outstanding relationship management and customer service skills Knowledge of Hotels as a product: hotel chains, categories, and locations Knowledge of Ground Transportation reservations Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines Strong problem-solving skills Team oriented approach including open to giving and receiving feedback Be able to work on own initiative Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise, including managing difficult situations with a calm nature Demonstrate strong communication skills including active listening Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams is required Our Location We are located in Mascot. Only 10kms south of the Sydney CBD and only a10 minute drive from Sydney Airport. The performance of additional responsibilities if you are designated as a Data Protection Champion (DPC), Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) or Information Assurance Accounting Officer (IAAO). Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
