We are recruiting for a Blasthole Driller to live and work in Australia on a working visa. Responsibilities: General safety of the crew and equipment To wear the appropriate PPE’s before approaching the job Receive and carry out all work instructions provide by your supervisor in an appropriate and timely fashion and plan appropriately to carry out such instructions in an efficient and safe manner To ensure that proper pre-start checks are carried out before start of the equipment Communicate all defects to the leading hand/supervisor or mechanical department Ensure that the holes are drilled to design specifications and in a safe manner Ensure that challenges faced by the operations are understood and communicated to superiors and other staff so such challenges may be overcome. Properly evaluate the need for and case all holes required that may be affected by water or broken ground, geological conditions Maximize service life of consumables through correct drilling practices and appropriate techniques for the ground conditions Ensure the rig is put to the best of use of time allocation and maximize utilization times Use forward-thinking strategies to stay ahead of operational tasks as best as possible. Check gauges, monitor drilling conditions and pay close attention to equipment to decide if it needs to be altered or adjusted during drilling. Use knowledge of soil or rock conditions to determine which drill is appropriate for each job. Follow all protocol and standard operating procedures to guarantee safety and compliance on the job site and keep team members safe from injury. Position and assemble casing pipes, augers, machines and other equipment with the appropriate hand and power tools. Education and qualifications: A minimum of a high school certificate or equivalent. Relevant licenses as required. 5 years of education from secondary school upwards A minimum of 5 years experience in the mining industry as a Driller Strong knowledge of drilling equipment and machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy tools and equipment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work independently. Excellent written and spoken english Other requirements: Must be able to provide a National police clearance check Ability to pass a detailed medical and health exam Must have a valid passport - valid for more than 6 months Drivers license for manual transmission Ability to pass a english language exam
