POSITION SUMMARY As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to drive insights, innovations, and solutions for our BIS technology. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, product management, and regulatory affairs to enhance the performance, safety, and efficacy of our medical devices. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions of the Position include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.) Clean, mine and validate large-scale data sets from various sources including clinical trials and real-world evidence. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns and correlations. Conduct exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing to uncover actionable insights and inform decision making processes. Develop predictive models, algorithms, and statistical methods to optimize device performance, patient outcomes and user experience. Collaborate with R&D and software engineering teams to integrate data-driven insights into the design, development, and validation of BIS medical devices and software. Implement data visualization techniques to communicate findings effectively and clearly. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices in data science, machine learning and healthcare analytics. Provide back up for the Customer Support/Technical Support Team including working with customers and internal teams to deliver technical and product support solutions. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES Typical Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL, along with experience using libraries/frameworks for data analysis Machine learning experience is preferred Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex data sets and translate them into actionable recommendations. Experience with data visualization tools to communicate findings to diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced FDA regulated environment. Must understand, follow and comply with regulatory requirements as applicable to various processes. An understanding of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO Standards (ISO 13485) is preferred. Must possess a thorough understanding of work related standards and regulations, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality System Regulations (QSRs), both US and international. Strong organization and planning skills with an attention to detail and accuracy. TYPICAL MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE or CERTIFICATIONS EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS: At minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field is required Proven experience (3+ years) in data science, and mathematical and statistical analysis, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical Demand: Light physical effort. For example, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods, operating light office equipment, e.g., personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc., manually handling medium weight materials and/or equipment (0 to 10 pounds). Mental Demand: Moderate to high degree of concentration due to volume, complexity, and/or “pressure” of work. This position may require access to patient Protected Health Information (PHI) and may also involve access to electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI). Those in this position are required to comply with all final regulations including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
