Teacher – Penfield Goodstart is Australia’s largest early learning provider. As a not–for–profit social enterprise, we exist purely to improve the lives of Australia’s children and their families. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Teacher to develop programs and practices that are responsive to our children’s needs and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Penfield is an interactive, background-based centre located just behind the RAAF base and within the convenience of suburbia. Its twelve acres of land gives children the opportunity to be immersed in a natural, rural environment. We have large grassed outdoor play areas for children with rock areas, sand pits and a family of farm animals. All of the children are involved in the care and feeding of our sheep (and new baby lambs!), chickens and ducks. We also have guinea pigs, a turkey and the farmer next door has goats and sheep which we can see from our yards. Also neighbouring the property is an equestrian centre so the children see the horses. They are also able to collect the eggs, watch the sheep be shorn and help maintain the vegetable garden. Along with the farm animals, we are lucky to have a beautiful variety of native animals on the property which we can see when exploring. Your role Hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood or equivalent qualification (ACECQA approved) Hold a current 1st Aid qualification Work in a purpose built, well resourced centre with three rooms working in a float role Set Shift times Centre has incursions and excursions in place Centre is exceeding as per their previous assessment and rating Plan innovative and engaging learning experiences Champion positive and meaningful relationships with children. Part time, permanent role – 34 hours Based on a twelve acre property, centre has farm animals and much more to stimulate education Responsibilities Assess children’s learning and development and apply pedagogical ability to inform curriculum decisions Maintain and apply expert knowledge of the National Quality Framework Seek and share best practice examples to improve the education program Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with families, children and the centre team Model effective application of pedagogy in teaching practice Contribute to a professional and positive work culture The benefits Comprehensive induction and training programme Access to a professional peer teacher mentor Professional pedagogical and operational centre support teams to assist you in providing high-quality educational programs.
