About the role The Rehabilitation Unit of Mater Private Hospital Redland requires an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion to assist patients to return to their optimal level of functioning. The work is mainly with patients requiring lower limb orthopaedic, simple neuro and medical reconditioning and includes in patient and day therapy patients. This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis. The successful candidate will be required to work 30 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster which includes alternate weekends. You will need to have the flexibility to work longer shifts each day when ward activity is higher and to cover sick leave/annual leave where possible. Building on Mater’s reputation for clinical excellence, Mater Private Hospi​tal Redland provides a range of specialised maternity, surgical and medical services to support the needs of the local community. The hospital features a 3 level main hospital building incorporating 60 inpatient beds, three operating theatres, birth suites and access to a broad range of clinical services. Compensation range: $33.15 - $44.51 (Allied Health Professional Level 1) per hour plus superannuation What you’ll be doing As an Occupational Therapist you will be experienced in providing exceptional service to adult patients and contributing to a multidisciplinary team, managing caseloads, measuring outcomes and dedication to continuous improvement will be boosted by your strong understanding of the qualifications for contributing to a safe workplace in a rehabilitation environment. You will be a strong and confident communicator, communicating effectively with patients, families and professional colleagues at all times. About you The successful candidate will possess: At least 1 year post registration background in an acute hospital setting Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist Proven background to provide occupational therapy clinical services of a complex nature Knowledge, ability and skill within Orthopaedics and Neurological Rehabilitation Membership of the Australian Occupational Therapy Association is desirable but not essential A current Queensland Drivers Licence Why join us?
